In the summer of 1975, Craig first came to Vail as a Tennis Professional through his collegiate coach at the University of California at Berkeley. He began his real estate career with Vail Associates Real Estate in 1978 and was recognized as the top producer in 1985. At that time, he decided to team up with Rocky Christopher and formed one of the most recognized and knowledgeable firms in the Valley for the past 16 years, until deciding to partner with Kraig Forbes of Forbes Real Estate Group, a long time friend.
After several successful development projects and a consulting opportunity at the Yellowstone Club in Montana, Craig made a life-style decision to redirect his energies back to the brokerage business and spend more time with his family of four children in Vail.
In November of 2005, Craig made the move to join Ron Byrne and Associates Real Estate. He felt his roots and relationships were in the Village and wanted once again to be in the center of town. He also had many of the same experiences and expertise as Ron Byrne as they both were two of the pioneer brokers in the Vail Valley and they enjoy the development side of the business. Ron Byrne and Associates was a natural fit with Craig's knowledge of Vail and his vast experience. Craig also has a background in selling Vail's most premier properties and high end homes and missed the close relationships he had developed and wished to return to the fulfilling experience of assisting his buyers in finding that special mountain home.
Having raised a family since 1979 in the valley, Craig had given back to the community through his services in youth athletics. From coaching young ski racers to finally taking over the Vail Junior Hockey Club as President for three years and remaining as a board member for another 10 years, Craig takes pride in being part of his children's lives as well as the community's. In addition, Craig was the founding partner of Chilly Willy's, a Tex-Mex restaurant in Minturn, which has been a profitable and successful restaurant to this date.
